Round 2 Eastern Conference Predictions

The only thing that could be considered a surprise in the East was Bridgeport taking down Albany in 6. Other than that, everything went pretty close to how it was scripted. Hartford played well against Syracuse, better than most would have anticipated except for game one, so kudos to them for playing well. Binghamton played great in their series against Portland, so I would have to imagine they will be a stiffer test for Syracuse this round. Wilkes-Barre will bring some high powered offense to go up against some outstanding defense and netminding from Bridgeport, although @GOW vCrux made a statement of his own from what I saw in our first round matchup.

Syracuse Crunch vs. Binghamton Senators​

Syracuse blew out Hartford in game one, but got shut out in game 2. For the number one team in the league, that doesn't bode well, but they did rebound nicely and clean up the series. @Cronkzy Show was the top scorer for this team, followed up by @THEE UNCLE BuCK finishing a strong second and having 6 goals - 1 assist(puck hog :razz. @Tubbyturbo13, @Colonel20, and @l Geno l had nice series back in the back end of things. They only gave up 11 goals in 5 games which runs hand in hand with the type of game they have played throughout the season. I expect this number to go up a bit playing in a series against Binghampton. I'm sure @Mindhunter114 will be up for the challenge.

Binghamton had an impressive series against Portland. After losing game one, they turned it around and never looked back in the series, taking the last 4 in a row. @I Beat Up Cakes earned that huge contract coming up big in them in the first round, and @BigDzInTheHouse threw up some very nice points as well. These guys will need to have an equally impressive series if this team wants a chance to push on. @x SUKY o will need to have another nice series, and @SportsFanatic73 and @ChenzoE will need to continue to be very strong back there to stop Syracuse's good cycle game. I think these games will be pretty tight, and I think Binghamton will have a strong series. I just don't think it will be quite strong enough.

Wilkes-Barre Penguins vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers​

Wilkes-Barre had a nice win against Lehigh Valley (this will be weird typing in the third person) with some close games and great goaltending. Again, @GOW vCrux had some outstanding performances, and the team as a whole played as a great cohesive unit. @Mike Fig and [MENTION=4634]PvtKillaa[/MENTION] took care of business offensively for the Baby Pens. @RABID WOLV3RIN3 played a great series defensively and he will be a key player in helping to shut down Bridgeport. This team is solid top to bottom and will give Bridgeport all they can handle in round 2.

Bridgeport played one of the Calder Cup favorites and took care of them in 6. This team has some real stud d-men in @l1l Delegan l3l, @synikal34, and @heD HonChO. These guys will have to keep up the stellar play to shut down another offensive powerhouse. The goalies were yet again stellar, and I think my recommendation to seek out a yoga instructor paid dividends. I think they will need to look for some help in meditating as well, this will be another high powered test for these guys. Heed my advice @ch0sen 1 x and @xCBx Chuckles. The scoring was pretty spread out for this team, but @ninjax 4ssassin led the way for Bridgeport with 6 points. This is going to be another tight series, and I think every game is going to be a nail biting affair. This would be fun to watch.

Bridgeport had to face Albany, WBS, and (if we win) Syracuse (unless an upset happens). Talk about a difficult playoff run haha jeeeez

 

All 4 teams left in the East are Calder Cup worthy and every game will be tough. Its too bad that some won't make it to the finals. East has 5 great teams that would beat any team in the West in a 7 game series. Good luck to all team.

I'm taking both upsets. Binghamton in 6 and Bridgeport in 6.

 

Both series could go either way, but I think in both cases defense and goal tending will win the series, so I predict Syracuse and Bridgeport will both win their series in 6 games.
