With our NHL Ownership applications opening yesterday, we are also going to open and explain the plans for the AHL come season 25.

Right now we have a few things on the table at the AHL level. For example, we are going to expect our NHL Owners and AHL GMs to come to terms whereby they both are locked into the organization on a two season commitment. This should allow players to see more stability and consistency during the course of a few seasons.

The AHL GM role will become more of a spotlight this season being locked into a two season commitment and some of the current discussions right now are about the terms of a two season deal. We are exploring options that would allow Owners to set basic guidelines, and perhaps have an opt out clause for AHL GMs if the Owner is no longer able to fulfill his or her two season commitment.

We are also exploring the option to allow the 2nd AGM be predetermined, prior to entering bidding at a set price and value similar to the AGM proposal in the NHL. Of course in the AHL the position is worth less money, and we are looking to apply stipulations to not allow an AHL team to load up their management positions with former NHL Managers or top tier players. The goal is to give the AHL GM more of an identity for his team prior to bidding starting, as well as build on the assets he or she currently has.

For less of a confusing aspect, I have considered adding in the title of AHL Owner, to really give us a turn understand of what tier each manager holds. We could explore different wants to display that as well here on LG, like Owner, GM, AGM. Bold and underlined, Bold, nothing.

Season 25 will mark our 25th anniversary of LGHL hockey and with that we are truly looking at ways to inspire the competitive environment we have had here for many seasons. There are a lot of good proposals on the table for rule changes and site upgrades to better support the systems and ideas that make this league so popular. I am trying to break the cookie cutter mold of how teams are built and how a season can play out but adding more decisions and options for our managers to take. For one example, this proposed AGM idea for the AHL does not mean a team MUST go with a 3 million dollar AGM. Teams can opt to take a roster player at 500k, make that player AGM and enter bidding with 2.5 million more than teams who opt into the 3 million dollar AGM. Just little things like that, that truly add a GM Connected feel to LG Hockey.

If you have interest in stepping into an AHL role this season, I recommend you post interest in this thread. We are looking at some form of approval system for the AHL next season. We are not looking to completely limit people from being able to be AHL managers, we are just looking to vet the process to avoid unfortunate situations therefore giving us the best 90 AHL managers possible. It is all about the experience our players get here, and by offering stronger managers, we can offer a better experience.

I think it's great for the stability of the league to have multiple year ahl management. The issue I see with this is if a Owner hires a ahl gm that's forced to a 2 year. What prevents a nhl owner that team collapses from taking all the ahl players that ahl management got? Then that ahl management team is stuck with players they never wanted. If we are going to expect ahl management teams to agree to multi year deals then I believe a call up cap is needed for call up/trade ahl players. It would prevent a owner from trading ahl players that they honestly don't care about just to sweeten a nhl deal.

Some ahl managers are completely ok with nhl owners calling their players up. Others lose all motivation to continue to run their team.

Personally if I was nhl owner I would tell my ahl gm that I get 5 players to bid on in ahl bidding. Those 5 players are only players I would call up or use as ecus. This way my ahl management team still can get their core guys to build around without the risk of nhl ownership stealing them.

2 seasons of management experience, never been disciplined by the league, and have made the playoffs every time.

Gm, Went to the QMJHL finals lost in game 7 to the mem cup champs.

S24 ahl Portland gm, came into this team built a good and fun team and went to the 2nd round and got eliminated by Wbs.

I know I've had some mistakes but I'm learning from them. I really liked being management in lg and building a team who likes to have fun and win. I would like to return back to the ahl organization under @Dumba x 55 and be on the Portland Pirates/Springfield Thunderbirds (Portland Pirates new name) if I'm approved. Thanks.

Management Experience: GM of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers S24, LGWJC Sweden S1, 2 Management seasons in the old VHL.

I would like to be a GM in S25, I'm fine with any team in the league I'm just looking for the opportunity.

I think I would be good for GM because I have a was in management last season and was able to put up a competitive team that win or lose we were always on for our games on time. My team was always communicating with each other and everybody was on the same page. Also I get along with other GMs in the league and love to be involved with the community here at LG.

I am also serious about LG and know the Rulebook thoroughly and follow each rule to its entirety and will make sure any player on my team does the same.

Finally I have been playing this great NHL Series since 2009 and LG is a really great thing for this series and I wanna be involved as much as possible in this league.
