LGAHL Season 8 Bastien Memorial Award Vote

Before we start, I want to make sure everyone knows that no member of the committee was or will be allowed to vote for an award in which they are nominated.


The Community Vote will be included in the final vote, along with the committee votes.


Also, for Strength of schedule, the lower the number, the tougher your schedule. If your SOS was a 7.8 (Conf) and a 15.2 (League), your average game played would be against the 8th place team in the conference, and 15th in the league as a whole. Really high=really poor SOS.


The finalist for Bastien Memorial Award for Season 8 of LGAHL PSN as the top goaltender are:


JVIysterious-

Overall Production: 81.7SV%, 1.89GAA, 7SO
Vs. Playoff Teams: 20-6-4, 80.0SV%, 2.08GAA, 4SO
Vs. Non-Playoff Teams: 20-3-2, 83.7SV%, 1.66GAA, 3SO
Record: 40-9-6

Heavy workload while consistently putting up great stats; that is a recipe for a special season. Backstopping the 2nd place team in the league, mysterious provided top end goaltending for a team had their way with the league. Sporting the best GAA of the finalists against playoff teams, mysterious showed that he didn’t always require high goal support to lead his team to victory. Mysterious’ heavy workload and great play led him to acquiring 86 of the Rampage’s 130 points on the season.

Making his return to LG after some time off, Seth helped the Providence Bruins finish as one of the top teams in the league. Playing in every game he could for his team, Seth posted some great numbers at the goalie position. Stepping up against the teams in the top half of the standings really helped the Bruins solidify themselves at the top of the standings, as Seth was able to have a better SV% and GAA against playoff teams as compared to non-playoff teams.

Vs. Non-Playoff Teams: 18-0-1, 85.6SV%, 1.42GAA, 4SO

After a very rough s6, and than moving out of the net in s7, quick_scope moved back to the net for s8 and proved that Hartford’s gamble on him to mimic his production from s3 was well deserved. Quick_scope was able to provide the necessary saves for the best team in the regular season and was a solid force as the last line of defence. Quick_scope ended the season near the top of the leaderboards for both SV% and GAA.

After a rough start to the season in the NHL, Tikle found a home on a Cuda squad looking to make a name for themselves this season. Say what you want about their game play style, it would not be as effective without a top notch goaltender locking it down at the back end. Tikle paced all goalies with the best SV% at 84.5% and the best GAA at 1.73 of any goalie that qualified for the award. He played great against playoff teams and did what you expect of any top goalie and absolutely stifled any non-playoff team he went against.

Vs. Non-Playoff Teams: 11-4-1, 85.4SV%, 1.93GAA, 1SO

After playing forward in all of his previous seasons of LG, STLstash decided to go goalie for s8 and showed that he can play. Playing for an Iowa team that just missed the playoffs, Stash really gave it his all as he tried to carry the team. Sporting a 2.27GAA and 83.5SV%, Stash was keeping his team in games and providing them with a chance to win. From his playoff team record compared to the stats he put you, it seems quite evident that many games were won or lose due to Stash’s ability to not let in a goal.

Vs. Non-Playoff Teams: 15-5-1, 84.1SV%, 1.98GAA, 6SO

Having some average success since leaving the CHL, Allin came into the season looking to improve and backstop his team to a playoff position. Bakersfield was able to squeak into a playoff spot on the back of Allin’s league leading 8 shoutouts. Although the rest of his stats were very modest compared to the other finalists he was able to do enough to provide his team a chance to win.
