hey all that are in the ncaa league,
my status on getting internet is that we are supposed to get it in a week, its charter or what ever the hell they call it in this good for saken place. im not sure how good of quality it will be i know it will have to be wireless.

so i was wondering if yall would be so kind to maybe let me have a temp. replacement for like a week or however long it will take to get it here.

I don't see how we can even think about a "temp" replacement. Are you going to have to share your internet connection? Will you be able to have the connection all to yourself when you have a league game? I've had Charter before and it is terrible and should be fine if you are the only one on when playing your games. If you are getting it in a week (like at the beginning of next week) we can deal with that.

 

I have Charter the whole time I lived in St. Louis

It's 3000/300 I believe, but if you're sharing it with a house full of people, all on wi-fi, your connection on XBL is going to be garbage (especially if you use wi-fi for the XBox too).

 

yeah i figured that, so i dont know i prob. when i get it see how good the connex is, i was kinda worried about that though with 12 other guys in the house all goin off 1 wireless modem

Yeah, that's not going to work for any XBL game that involves any sort of fast action.

Links, maybe you could play... as long as it wouldn't drop you off due to the slow connection.

But no way in hell will a game of NHL, MLB, NCAA, NFL, etc work with that sort of setup. With all 12 people on (even just checking email or surfing, not even downloading or gaming), you'll be reduced to dialup modem type of speeds (for all of you).

Any update on this game? We need to know if you'll be able to play with that connection BigRed, otherwise we'll have to line up an alternate and don't want the new guy to get too far behind.

Please try and test out your connection and play that game today or tomorrow if it's possible.

He has got to get the connection first LOL.... give the kid a break. He has enough stuff to worry about being in a totally new environment. Last I heard ( a few days ago ) they had a meeting about the internet and were going to get it installed in a week ( so it could be a few days from now...who knows? ). I don't think there should a big concern with a n00b playing catchup because its only 1 game a week so the new owner ( if one is necessary ) wont have to stress out to much getting a game or 2 in.

 

Right, that's why I was asking since "end of this week" was the last that we kinda heard... just seeing if they had it installed yet.

OK we have internet now ill prob. be able to have live up by sunday/monday, because i either have to drill a hole in the wall and run a wire through or have my someone send my wirless gaming router.

lOl, we have to build our own loft and we are in the process still, the guy at Lowes sold us the wrong drill bit though, it is too small for the bolts to go through without having to pound them in.

 

Ya'll both should have gone to Tech...no assembly required for the dorms.

 

Nah, our dorm room is going to be awesome when we get it all done today. We finally have a day to ourselves pretty much. Atleast until 6pm PST.
