Just a general comment I guess -- how the hell do you guys manage to put up such large numbers? 800+ offensive yards by St. Louis?

    :!:

The funny part is 6 first downs from St. Louis in that game.

    I dunno.

Yeah, Big Red and I were discussing that in the game. I didn't have many first downs because every time I ran the ball it seemed to go for a long TD. 2nd half, I rarely passed the ball and just kept running but Faulk would go untouched.

4 fumbles and 2 INT's didn't help the Falcons much either.

In exhibition games, IndigoVDub (MIA) Raptor (MIA) and Trigga Happy (BAL) have been the only two guys that have shut down my running game pretty well.

I don't sub unless someone's hurt or tired, not really any point in subbing otherwise.

the only way you can shutdown a decent running team is with a good defense. It is not possible to shutdown faulk with the kittens. I was holding tristenlog down but he started to dominate with hearst

Yawn. We've been through this before, last week. [-(

I'm not going to stop playing half way through the game, or stop trying just because I've built up a lead. I don't care if it's 100-0, I'm not going to kneel on the ball in the 3rd quarter, or TRY and not get a 1st down, or TRY and get tackled.

The best I can do is hand the ball off and run the ball (like a real NFL team in a blowout)... which I do whenever I have a big lead. If you can't stop it, that's not my fault. Hit the woodshed and put in some freaking practice. Big Red and Skater (my two blowout opponents) are big boys and can take it, neither of them made a fuss and knew I wasn't trying to intentionally run it up.

On the otherhand, I've heard several reports of people using all of their timeouts, spiking the ball, throwing bombs, etc with a huge lead at the end of the game. That's garbage and completely bad sportsmanship. :x

    Put up, or shutup. 8)

You've held me to under 300 total yards in exhibitions with the kittens, and to only 151yds when you used the Dolphins.

Good defense and playcalling will usually shut down even the most potent offensive attack.

You know as well as i do the run in this game is little whack so how would running the ball with marshall faulk be merciful? Especially when playing teams like the cardinals, lions, colts, falcons, etc... Thats all I'm saying.

They know what's coming, I don't care if it's Superman back there, and you have arena league defenders, if you have good playcalling, and excute, you can shut down most rushing attacks (especially when you know what's coming and your opponent is being nice and not passing the ball). The Rams defense is just as bad as the rest you mentioned (I believe they are rated in the 70's) and I don't have too many problems with them. LB's, DL's, DB's etc are 1 and 2 starts in the pregame thing. My only good defenders are Little, Wistrom, Williams, and Archeletta. If you're dumb enough to run plays toward my 4 good defenders, that's your own fault. Abuse my weaker defenders, do some mid-week scouting against the computer playing my team. Jeez, this is pathetic that I have to tell you guys how to play the friggin game.

    I'm done discussing this, really.

Like I said, put up or shutup.

    "Yawn"

You have no clue how good the Rams Defense actually is do you? You keep telling everyone how bad they are when in reality they aren't. The pregame stars mean jack crap. Your defense is rated somewhere in the 80's not the 70's and they are all quick as lighting. I can speak due to the fact i have actually played with them whereas i know you havent played with the lions or colts etc. Honestly I don't care if you score a 70-10 blowout. My thing is just dont act like you are showing all this mercy and that running the ball with Marshall Faulk is being nice. That being said continue blowing people out, doesnt really bother me because i know you cant do it to me.

i didnt mean to offend anyone by saying the lions D sucks . I just wanted to say that when I played a game with the dolphins it was so much easier to play defense.

I felt the same way when i play with the rams. They were 10x faster plus they didnt let the other team get away with a whole bunch of broken tackles.

Thats not exactly true. Every time I play the computer I play the Rams, or Doplphins, or whatever so I can get in good practice. You saying that "good playcalling" is the key to stopping Faulk is BS, every time I know for a fact he will get the ball I pick a perfect defence for it and he just sheds all tackles. You and I both know if you back is rated 85 or up he can't be stopped easily, and if he is 90 and up it is almost impossible. Playcalling has nothing to do with shutting down the run or not.
