how are the stat whores ruining the game? if you say, "remember when people played online for fun..." then why would the stat whores bother you? i'm not criticizing you, here (tone in posts is always difficult) - i'm just saying that if you play for this league and such, who cares about the "stat whores" - by the way, i still have just one star. (stupid job!)
because I like to go on and play for fun but there are too many people wrapped up in stats and being number 1 like it matters. You are #1? Big deal. Let's compare paychecks. I could be ranked high if I had all day to waste with games. Wow, that was bitchy. lol I like playing with friends but my learning curve for a game is alot higher than others and when I see people say it takes 2 hours to max out a guy easy then I want to kill him then me.
well you do have to play like 2 tourneys to max em out. so it took me a little longer than 2 hours, I did it in 5. And the serve ones sucked! Had to do level 3 like 4 times, and it costs money each time, so i had to win another tournament in order to get the star.
hey goalie whaz up, i got skills after i completed some of the training with the coaches. i have 9 stars so far and played for about two hours last night, couldn't find anyone online at all to play. not even the optimatch worked.
Yeah, if you get the training done w/o having to redo any of them, you actually don't have to do any tournaments to get 14 stars for your player. Just do the first test for all of the sponsors and that will be plenty of coin to do all of the training you'll need.
I have zero stars and zero skills so far, but I'm having fun. How about I coin a new term. Funwhore...funwhores unite!!! I did win my first tournament, but I haven't done any of the training yet. Has anyone figured out how to actually execute a risk shot yet? It is so freaky hard that I just ignore that feature except for when serving.
Don't even bother with risk shots until you get more stars/more skills. Then the meter runs a bit slower.
I think I will make yet another guy! I can serve aces like a mad man with my weak serve, can't wait to make a guy with 5 stars for serves. He will be called: Andy Roddick.
I waxed Roddick and Sampras in a Major Pro tourney, both were ranked top 3 at the time.. and I was like 15th. After the win, I moved up to 9th was all... and they didn't move at all. Bummer. I guess you only get big points for the Grand Slam events. I was going to try and get #1 for that 4th skill before doing a Grand Slam, but it seems that I'll need to do a GS event if I want enough points to dethrone Sampras from the 1 seed.
Have fun making him, but don't expect to have success with him against good players, the guy I played against you and Jon and others, I just got waxed in rallies. Maybe if I get the 4th skill with him, he will be better...but I doubt he will be that much better. The new guy I made is awesome I played a bunch of matches with him online and only lost once, to a guy whom I beat twice before. My ranking with him in official games is like 13 and I am like 27 on the all games non official one.
Ya I got within 6 points of being ranked #1 but I would never be able to pass them doing the smaller tourneys because they would always gain just enough points to stay ahead. So I played the French Open and slaughtered everybody. It was soooooo much easier with this guy.
