This is a very silly hypothetical conversation to have for various reasons (different games etc), but I'll bite. Pretty much everything you said is correct, but I'll argue a few points.

Competing against that team would be largely based on matchups. But in my hypothetical scenario, let's say that I both have the ability to be in two places at once, and that active and I agreed to match lines straight up (and to not change our established lines so as to not introduce any ridiculous potential strategies).

Hit Dat - Tanny - Kidmoney - Cam - Cricket beats ECU/Banjo - Fu - Dradle - Samoan - McCulough both games, IMO. Simply due to Nick I feel this really isn't much of a discussion. So give S17 LA a 2-0 lead.

Infamous - Dollah - Gremz - Keck - Ary loses to Bass - Raynor - Knightz - Mark - YouSee both games. Mainly because Gremz that season was an offense suck in pretty much every sense. He was a necessary evil at the time, but probably causes this line to not stand much of a chance, even though they should in reality have at least a fighting chance. So 2-2 series.

That leaves No Name - SMP - Kody - SCF Game 7 MVP Widowmaker - Craig against Hope - Dub - Kody - act1ve - Chr1s. In all reality S17 LA probably loses both here, but my argument would be that our line on LA that season was extremely good at winning games in which we got out possessed. We were good at both quick strike offense, as well as limiting opponent's chances despite their often high TOA. Weirder things have happened, and I'd like to think that both games would probably be close scorewise, with the potential for LA to steal one.

So, let's say it's tied 3-3 at this point (a leap I know, CHI likely wins by now). This leaves Hit Dat - Dollah - Kody - Keck - Ary - Clancy vs, uh, idk what Chicago's G7 line would be b/c we never had to play one. I guess Bass - Dub - Kody - Mark - YouSee - JHubbs? If you think there's a better line feel free to substitute as needed, point is I feel that if S17 LA pushes that series to 7 it would be close to a 50/50 toss up, VERY slight edge to Chicago.


Also, to your point about the S17 WCF, we got out TOA'd by like 30-45 seconds and outshot by maybe 2-3 shots? Going off memory here, but it was a very even game. That was with Gremz on LW too. So considering the circumstances, I'd say we did ok.

The top forward lines on some of the teams in this poll would be 3rd lines on S17 LAK or S18 Pittsburgh. Those two and the S17 Islanders (shout out to McDonald's Frying Pan) should be the only teams included.

I take S17 LA in that Game 7 mostly because Kody cant really play against himself which would most likely leave his brother playing for Chicago. Kody would play for LA because he put his heart and soul into that team #respect. Suck it Mark. Also, I was the best cheerleading benchwarmer in the league, Go Kings Go.

 

Replace [MENTION=7070]Coach Denham[/MENTION] with [MENTION=8457]StamToast[/MENTION] or even [MENTION=7923]Noobinator156[/MENTION] as the backup goalie and S17 LA takes the cake.

So clearly VHL Moosetreal is the 2nd best team in online league history.

 

Joke all you want but I actually put up some good stats that season considering I was a backup goalie.

 

1 point in the vhl Chicago vs lg LA, Chicago had the luxury of a free AGM while LG teams did not, if you factor it in that is 1 elite player extra on Chicago essentially.

 

Also S18 LAK were an AO vacation away from winning back to back cups with a nearly completely different roster

S17 was the deepest season so id like to think it was between LA and NYI, they were pretty sick teams, but that S18 pitt team was probably the deepest of the 3 teams they were very tough to match up with

 

hmm... if the statement holds true... does this mean i do in fact play NHL with the TV on? Since i went to the WCF in S17. Or am i just as bad as [MENTION=3129]BacKLuND x 22[/MENTION] is fat?

 

OR EVEN?! I shut down Bass' line in S18 playoffs. And my name is engraved on the cup from S17. I did all this while Stammer put up subpar numbers for Manchester. I am truly the greatest backup in LG. Also fuck OP for not mentioning me...
