Who is the best team in the history of LG (post merger)?

:t27:S17 New York Islanders

After a rough start to the season, owner @I Beat Up Cakes worked his grease magic at the trade deadline and walked away with players like @Space Jam XVII @Proud Gay Dad @kingbrad3 @gundamfreedomx @ball saddle and @dayman531. Joining up with already rostered players such as @act1veD @Jewell x 96 and S17 Selke winner @x Kariya 9 x this team went on a 32-3-2 run to close the season. NHL legend @luke412 held it down in net all season long and the Islanders made their way to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in LG history (probably). The Islanders and Kings went the distance in the SCF, with game 7 streamed across the world to literally tens of viewers, buttholes were clenched across the continent, however the Cinderella story NYI could not get that last W, and they fell 2-1 to the S17 Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings. @Acid Thrasher is widely regarded as the reason the Islanders did not win the cup that season, as reports have confirmed he touched the Prince of Wales trophy b/c he thought there was candy inside.

The LA Kings of S17 had a young @lan Morando at the top of his game, and with @Dos Peso @mR Hit DaT and @x SMP 7 x rounding out a solid forward core, the Kings were touch to match up against on paper. The back end included the likes of @LA Kingss @EagleEyeFoley and @SnazzyBarbecue with @Coach Denham and @l4l Clancy l7l in net. If i remember correctly they had to get through the scumbaggery of the Dallas 2nd tagging fiasco to get out of the Western Conference finals. It was probably tough to play against Odie all 7 games in that series. They took down Space Jam and the handsome, charismatic, New York Islanders in 7 games to get their names engraved on that virtual cup.


:t78:S18 Pittsburgh Penguins

These guys were a bunch of dicks. However, they put on one of the most dominant regular seasons that has ever been witnessed in LG. Capturing the Presidents Trophy with a whopping 126 points, this team was lead by @Rammered @Trobby Trobs @MattMurr @Sknottz61 aka mfricha and @Girgs x 28. These guys were true heels in the forums/chatbox, but they were pretty dominant all season long. Unfortunately for PIT, suspensions to some of their key players resulted in an early 2nd round exit at the hands of the S18 NYI, falling in 6 games in a very competitive S18.


:t23:S18 Florida Panthers

The @FoX l1l and @Stickzlaf dynasty gets their big cup win in S18. Picking up the pieces of an MIA @YargageQC team, stick, fox and @Kop11tar put the team on their backs with some help from the frenchies @J a IMI e S x22 @CedHabs @MasterPils and @Deceasedgoblin.
This team came out of a tough Eastern Conference, beating the NYI in 7 games in the ECF. They went on to defeat a great Dallas team in the finals, bringing home the first post-merger Stanley Cup for Stick/Fox/Kopi, a group that now has a couple Prince of Wales Trophies, some Presidents Cups and few individual awards to go along with them.

S17 Dallas finished with 98 points and was the 7 Seed in the West. Lost in the WCF to LA, and was double tagging out their butts.

S18 Dallas finished with 118 points and had the 3 seed in the West. They won the Campbell Bowl and lost in 6 or 7 games in the SCF. I think S18 had a better run on paper IMO.

 

They abused our ecu goalie in game 4. He was some chl training camp nub. Would have been a sweep if kuemper wasn't on IR

 

S19 not gonna lie we had a terrible line for the entire season. The guys that replaced them ended up falling through S20 NHL waivers and are currently AHL players. The top 2 lines and dpairs however, were among the best.

 

I think you're confusing S17 Dallas with S17 Texas

 

They were one and the same.

 

S17 Dallas never double tagged, Texas did though. Also taking the best team of the bunch s17 LA to g7 1 goal game was impressive. S18 Dal had a better run but skill wise s17 was a better team, harmony wise s18 was better.

you could put that for the Preds. #1 team in the NHL chasing 1 player into the trapezoid to blow a 3-0 series lead in the first round. Eventually have to face more than a 3rd line in the loffs I guess.
