the only way he skates on these charges with the avalanche of evidence is if a few black jurors hang the jury to protect "there" superstar, Martin is going to try and stack the jury with young black men, the prosicution with 40ish white women. Jury selection is the most important part of this case because white people vomit when they hear this black people think about the impact of losing the the most noticeable black athlete there is. because this is imbeded into Hip-Hop culture most will just see this as "just a dogfight" and at worst the "man" keeping us down, so to speak. When dealing with stars its always a crapshoot, but the water bottle, the Ron Mexico insident assure me hes guilty but if Martin plays his cards right this may become OJ part 2
Sad, very sad! Is this really how the public and legal counsel are looking at this? This case has nothing to do with black or white, it has to do with rich douchebags being/acting above the law and not having a care in the world for living beings. Honestly, if he does get off and is truly guilty, I really hope some crazy dog lover puts a bullet through his head.
I think thats a completely unfair stereotype. Not "all" black people care about the supposed impact of losing Vick. I don't think I'm the exception either. I am a black man who is young, and I find it deplorable. Not everyone is imbedded in a racial train of thought. I think you'll find a lot of people of any race will find this to be a terrible example of how sick human beings can be. Besides, if you want to talk demographics, uneducated, young black men aren't registered to vote in high numbers. And lets face facts, they don't bring charges unless they will win. They have a 95% conviction rate for a reason. I would also argue that Vick(before this incident of course) was not the most visible black athlete. What about Reggie Bush now, or VY? Lebron James? Heck Tiger Woods too.
Pop you are dead on correct. Maybe they should let him go a round or two in a cage with some of the pit bulls they trained to kill other animals. Lets see how that famous Vick speed works then.
This is an animal rights case. Not black and white...if he was truly involved (which I believe the evidence will prove) then he should see time. The Falcons would be fools to not cut him and try to distance themselves from this bad press.
Yeah hopefully by next season he will be a free agent signee of a federal prison. At least he can work on his scrambling skills so he can attempt to avoid the first day in prison human booster shot from a guy named Molly.
I live in Richmond and they closed off a ton of streets the last couple of days. Vick's from VA, and most people here could care less about him. He's probably going to jail. Target, why say it's going to be a black/white issue? Wow....I'm sure you know all African-Americans and what they're thinking. A few of your posts as of late make you sound kinda predjudice. Try not to stereotype and think before you write.
i agree with this post. that was a very "white guy" view target posted. turn off mtv. this is about dogfighting and LOTS of evidence pointing to the correct man, not about a black guy being picked on. color will have nothing to do with this case.
Actually its about dog fighting AND gambling. The media is focused on the dog fighting, and thats a good thing, but he is in deep doo-doo for running an interstate gambling ring too which probably has harsher penalties. But as a dog lover i hope he goes away for as long as possible.
Yeah I read an article saying they will be brining more charges against him pretty soon. Its kinda like a period of time for one of his guys to decide to turn States evidence against Vick or face tougher charges/potential punishments.
I just don't get these guys at all. You've worked incredibly hard to get to where you're at and you've essentially got the world by the balls, how could you possibly screw up your life so much?
Actually it seemed like Vick was one of the least hard-working individuals. He was lazy with viewing film and practicing. He was just blessed with undeserved physical skills. The problem with having the world by the balls is you think you can twist them any way you want. I think with that kind of money and celebrity comes an arrogance that none of us can imagine, a fabricated aura of invincibility that comes with having money, women and a legion of yes-men.
I think thats it, they have the world by the balls and think they can get away with anything. The one thing that always confuses me is why there are so many drunk driving arrests for professional athletes. With all the money they make they cant call a cab or take a limo out partying? Mind boggling.
