mets suck period. Art howe sucked as manager of the a's and sucks as the manager of the mets. once the a's get the bat the need and resign chavez its all about them. hands down best pitching staff in the universe.
I remember when the Mets had a highly touted young pitching staff in Wilson, Pulsipher, and Isringhausen but they all were overworked in the minor leagues and wilson was overworked at fsu. I think Isringhausen slavaged his career a little as a reliver and Wilson has proven to be a durable starter but without the 95mph fastball he once had. They invested a lot of money and time developing those 3 and now have Heilman as a bright pitching prospect. I like the A's pitching staff, young, experienced and were never overworked or rushed to the big's. Billy Beane has done an outstanding job. I think Tejada is very replaceable but they have to sign Chavez.
Good luck with Scotty Erickson. The biggest hurdle with him is keeping him healthy. He was one of my favorite pitchers in Baltimore but I am not sorry to see him go elsewhere. Was just taking up space anymore.
