AHL Allstar Game Draft and Teams:

honestly that is kind of difficult to believe. you take for example Skillzpaybills. he played 5 weeks of the season and had a 8-8-2 with a +5, TBH is that really a all-star caliber season? most likely not. but his ability apparently(i havent played with him but based on his CR and people talking about him being the greatest to ever play the game) that this is mainly the reason why he was placed on the all star team over guys who had MUCH better seasons and played the WHOLE season.

 

You have to understand I never made the All Star Nominations list... DZ and I just had the most votes so we were captains. I picked Skillz as my first defenseman on my team cause he is the best defenseman in the AHL. If you don't agree with the players on the Nominations list then go state your opinion to the people actually running this event, Not a captain of a team that has no say... The only say that I have is picking my team and I think I did a good job.

 

im not saying anything about it being your fault or whatever, im just stating that there were other players who had much better seasons than he did that got left off. this is where "Popularity" comes into play here. there were players who deserve it much more than he does.

 

Need to do it how it's done in real hockey. One player from each team so all teams are represented. Maybe have managers of each team pick a player at each position from their team and then can be waddled down a bit after that and chosen by either a committee of people or voted on somehow by the community but done so in a way that has 1 player from each team represented.

 

I'm still scratching my head how I a) got nominated and b) got enough votes. While honored, I feel that I'm probably the only NON-nhl calibre player in this...well almost. And I'm sure many will agree as I have recieved alot of flak and hearsay.

I agree that these lists make no sense and theres a ton that should be here, and a bunch that don't deserve to be. It cant be points or record, see the example above and it can't be popular...myself as an example for that. So i have no clue...

.Like KB said, he chose his draft with what was presented infront of him. And he did real good imho.

Why not just have 3 games? Top goal scorer and 90+ pt scorers being left off is high schoolish

 

Why not just do it how it's done in actual real hockey and have a player from each team represented. Top players are left off real all star rosters as well. I think it'd be best to have all teams involved and a player from each team represented in the all star game.

 

How bout we just saying what could be . Me and KB have nothing to do with this besides picking our teams. Like KB said it is what it is . Just deal with it and move on. Simple as that. If u didn't make the ballot maybe u have to go take a few laps

 

This league is used to participation trophies and their mama telling them how great they did. There will always be winners, and losers in life. Suck it up buttercup.

 

That isn't the LG way if you want the all star participation badge gotta do it a certian way.

 

I'm not saying I want an all star participation badge....I'm not sure what you mean by this. I was just saying that it could be an idea to look at to replicate how the all star game is done in real hockey to have all teams involved and league wide interest and participation and representation from all teams. Why can't that be something to look at? It's totally doable.

 

I'm saying this is the way it has been done in lg for a long while. They do it that way because some teams are awful and don't deserve to send someone to the all star game.
