It's time for some way too early, overly analytical stats. Why you ask? Because I can and because I'm bored at work procrastinating on things I really should be doing. Every season we start off with the most wonderful and stressful and exciting part of LG: bidding. As management it is the most critical point in your season to start your team off on the right foot. Of course, as management, immediately after bidding everyone thinks their team is going to take home the Calder. Everyone thinks their big bids are going to take the team in their backpack and carry them to victory while their sleepers shock the LG world by coming out of nowhere. On the other side of the coin, there are the players that watch their bids sky rocket while they pound their head on their desk hoping to get a concussion and find out that it was all simply a bad dream. There are always a lot of expectations put on the high priced players. They're expected to be the Game 7 guys. The Elite. Yet, every season we see the weight of the cap hit smother players that maybe shouldn't have been that high to begin with. Real talk moment: Bidding has been fucked the past few seasons because people go after certain players so hard and bids inflate way too high which in turn inflates a lot of 2nd and 3rd line contracts because people get desperate and scramble to get someone decent near the end. But hey, its not my job to baby sit and give management advice. I'm just here to show some stats that are extremely too early to tell anything from but I don't care we're doing this. Listed below is every teams highest priced contract on their roster currently as of 10:58 AM Central time today. Just so everyone understands the below chart (and so I don't get bitched at in the comments more then I already will) I will explain each category. Name - its their name dumbass nothing more to it Pos - what spot on the ice they signed up for Team - this is the wonderful jersey that player puts on before games and sweats a shit ton in Cap - players cap hit Rank - my re-ranking using the same LG ranks we know and love for this seasons current stat output Mass - a varied stat form based off @xMAssStAtiC- stats that he does where instead of basing it off current leaders its based off a constant Grade - combination of Mass, special teams efficiency, carry ratio and value over replacement based out of 100 PER - player efficiency rating (basically their per game rates) Total - total contributions (goals created + goals prevented) Sk Rank - current Skater rank based off PER PER/Cap - players cost per one PER point rounded up Cap Range - what their Cap hit should be based off PER Value - Cap Range - Cap The big one we're looking at here is the players Value. This is really the big time determining factor on whether a player is really "worth" their cap hit they currently have or if someone got an absolute steal. Now this is all just based off Week 1 stats so this will probably all change next week but have at it you filthy animals.
If youd like my exact equation let me know and I can give it to you. I can give you the base form and you'll be able to alter the weights of everything as you please.
@Suppa_freak08 we need to get you off this list, bud. Something tells me you'll be off next week. My PER/Cap is undefined. #youjustgotmath'd
