    Introduction to 6v6 ESHL

Recently in the NHL community, tournament structure events seem to have been incredibly fun and well received by all. Tournament events offer a fast pace event that pays out prizing a lot quicker than how we have traditionally ran events for ESHL. Moving into NHL 19, ESHL will also break from the traditional seasonal structure and move to a tournament basis for our events. Each event will have a set buy-in price and some events will also be free to enter.

Sticking to LeagueGaming tradition we will be still incorporating a playoff at the end of each season. Since the structure is shifting, a season will consist of a predetermined amount of of events pass.

If you are curious how it will be determined what teams make the playoffs, we will be introducing a player points system to these events as well. Teams will be issued points based on where they finish in each event. Those points then will be distributed among the players. Once the season is over, teams with the most amount of points (accumulated based on how many points their players have earned during the season) will be invited to a playoff event.

This structure will be offered for teams who want to compete in 6s or 3s and without any conflicting times which allows players to participate in all events.

These events will be offered on Xbox One. PS4 will have some separate events unrelated to the player points system.

There will be 16, 6v6 events from October until January. Ten events will be paid, and six will be free to enter. Pro points will be issued for each event.

All events that require four rounds to complete will begin at 9 PM est. Any event that requires more than four rounds to complete will begin earlier and will be announced prior to the event based on the number of team sign ups.

    Tournament Structure

The structure for the events will be similar to our "Friday Night Puck" events with a simple modification. The semifinals and finals in the tournaments will be a best of three.

The brackets will vary based on the number of teams that sign up for each event.

There will also be a weekend event that is based on a double elimination bracket.

The example in the picture below is based off 16 teams sign up. The entire event would be a single game elimination.

Seeding for each event will be random with the exception of the two teams who made the finals in most recent event will be placed on opposite sides of the bracket for the next event. If either of the two top teams do not participate in the next event, the league will not honor the seeding arrangement listed above.

    Introduction to Pro Points

Pro points will be new to ESHL for NHL 19. The purpose of a Pro Point system is to give value to individual performance and highlight those players who are winning the most.

In order for teams to quality for the invite playoff, teams will have to have the highest level of pro points they can accumulate from their roster. A team's rank will be determined based on the value of their roster player's "Pro Points" added together.

In the above the image, the break down of the "Pro Points" is given for that event. Here is the break down:

The number of points listed above will be divided into the number of players who play. Therefore if a team only uses six players, and wins the entire event, those players would be issued 400 points each. If that same team was to win the event, but utilize all seven players each player would receive 343 points.

Roster players who do NOT play during a given tournament are not eligible to earn Pro Points.
