Nah guy that I thought was you had no tee-shrit and a white hat with jeans. Guess it wasn't you, just looked like the picture of you from school.
I think so too, judging by his first 4 years (best out of anyone). No, he won't hit for as many homers as some other guys, but being a 50-60HR guy doesn't make you the best hitter either. Pujols bats for average first, and if it happens to go out, then great. No, he's not fast, that's why he plays first base. As for defense, LaRussa is saying that he's got it in him to be a gold glover. He came up as a 3B and would still be there if the Cards didn't trade for Rolen. He'd be in LF if Tino Martinez would have worked out. He just plays where they tell him. Plus, he's very humble and has good character, gotta like that.
Ask anyone in baseball and they will tell you A-Rod is the best player... how many times do I have to tell you Pujols fanboys this.... However as a hitter he probably is one of the best in baseball.
I do believe A-Rod had a better first 4-5 year of his career, I mean damn the guy just about had a 50-50 season which nobody has ever done. Only missed by 8 HR's and 4 SB's. Oh ya forgot about someone who is definitely up there with these guys, Vlad Guerrero. That guy is amazing hitting, baserunning and fielding best arm in the majors by far.
you wanna hear another thing that he doesnt do is strikeout, he has more HR than strikeout 27 HR 26 K
Ok so he is an offensive powerhouse... we all knew this already but as far as best all around player its A-Rod hands down.
I'snt A-Rod hitting .270 this year? Anyways I would be willing to bet alot of money that Pujols offensive numbers were better than A-Rods offensive numbers in his first three years in the majors. Im not saying A-Rod isn't a great player which he is but I just think that Pujols will be the next triple crown winner if their is one.
Here's a statistical breakdown of both players first three years and the current season in the BIGS. Albert Pujols: 2001 - 37 HR, 130 RBI's, .329 AVG. 2002 - 34 HR, 127 RBI's, .314 AVG. 2003 - 43 HR, 124 RBI's, .359 AVG. 2004 - 27 HR, 70 RBI's, .322 AVG. A-Rod: 1994 - only played 17 games batted .204 1995 - 5 HR, 19 RBI's, .232 AVG. in 48 games played 1996 - 36 HR, 123 RBI's, .358 AVG. 2004 - 24 HR, 61 RBI's, .277 AVG. Obvisously A-Rod didn't get much playing time in his first two seasons but he still had a rather low batting average. That is one of the amazing things about Pujols is that he jumped right out of the gate and put up MVP numbers in every season he has played so far. I only see him as getting better and better and putting up a serious challenge for that triple crown.
Such as? We've already commented on his defensive skills (was a fine 3B before they moved him around to accomidate Rolen and Martinez) and is playing very well at 1B now. Speed, of course not, you don't expect your 1B to have leadoff hitter speed, just like you don't expect a catcher to either. His hitting skills outweigh any speed issues anyway. Not many #3 or #4 hitters steal bases, it just doesn't make sense strategy wise when you have another good hitter behind you.
Well A-rod is better defensively and on the base paths which put him ahead in the all around category of best players in the game.
A-Rod averages more errors per year than Pujols. Albert had only 4 total last year, A-Rod had one year with 24 Sure, A-Rod is faster, but he's a natural middle infielder. Albert is a corner infielder. Albert's hitting stats are much better than A-Rod's though (career OPS of 1.029 vs .958 for Arod). They're both studs, and probably future HOF'ers if they keep it up, but Albert has had the best 3yr start to a MLB career ever, period.
Ya but look at the positions too, I mean A-rod has played 2 of the 3 toughest positions, where as Pujols has played LF and 1B more so then 3B. LF and 1st are not vvery tough positions to play.
