Games during the holidays? Jesus you've gone off the deep end...

 

Let me start off by saying that i dont care that the season is delayed so id like to think i am unbiased. With that said, what do you owners need 2 weeks for? Are you just hoping the lag gets fixed? What do you need to get ready or prepare for? I just dont understand the thought process and what it is going to change.

 

Smells like "this team we have won't be fun maybe we should have rethought this". /takes the first chance to hit the door

 

I'm not certain either. I'd much prefer to just wait until this is actually fixed. Obviously, that wouldn't be great for the league, but I don't know how anyone can expect @mashle93 to handle uploading that many pictures for stats.

the delay is one thing but this is just stupid. We're going to have two or three players on each team with 0 availability for the end of the season. Can't we just cut the preseason from the other seasons it's pretty apparent not many nhl guys want it anyways

A couple things I'd like to say and try not to stir the pot.

1. If you are going to refer to the player/league poll it needs to not be hidden/deleted. I think people are rounding down the numbers and 60% of "x" number of votes could help explain things better. 60% of 2000 is not the same as 60% of 100.

2. (Because there is no PA) People signed up for and agreed to terms, the calendar was posted and there was a couple weeks prior to bidding to retire if it didn't fit their schedule. The league changed what was agreed on by management and players, therefore, have the right to "retire" without penalty and also should have the right to resign up at a later date if they choose, not a season ban OR have the unlimited IR as you extended to people when nothing changed.

You gave these people special rights/exceptions when nothing changed in the agreement, others should be granted the same luxuries.


To the community;
In all seriousness, Management was not aware of lobby lag until we started preseason. Everyone was going on what Brodie said and at that time no "home cpt" lag was noticed. So in reality, they have every right to be in panic mode. It was a "new" complication.

....I'm going to leave it at because everything else I tried to write throws people under the bus and exposes some of the BS is being tossed around by all levels.

 

I think they should shorten the season for how many weeks they ate going to wait instead of push the season into the holidays. It doesn't effect me either way but I can understand management wanting to push a week or two but you can't expect players to show up for holiday games fearing punishment.

 

So no break, but a lot of people go on vacation for the two weeks off they get from school so that also puts the league in a spot where I put in two weeks IR for the holiday and I go on a cruise on the week of thanksgiving so does that mean I will get banned for missing three weeks this season most likely?

 

there should be no internet hockey games from [Dec 23rd - Jan 2nd], regardless if YOU personally are available, its unreasonable to expect everyone to be around for internet hockey during the holidays.

There was going to be games over the holidays regardless of the delay. The delay did not cause games to be played over those 2 weeks. It actually made it more manageable as instead of running the playoffs during those weeks it's regular season which is a lot better.

 

The Hero we don't need, but probably deserve.

 

If a team's management takes it upon themselves to quit in protest, kick them out. Same for a team quitting. Even if they're right. That's not an acceptable way for things to function.
But please make sure they have meaningful ways to protest. If you're getting half the league's management threatening to quit, you already messed up.
