Lockup issues after playing a game on XBL

Lockup issues after

Last night I played a few games with you guys on XBL and after each game I had to reboot my Xbox due to a lock up.

After every live game when I hit the button to exit, it freezes up.

I have an original/launch day Xbox and have had zero problems with it. I've never seen a dirty disc error, or lockups, etc... it seems to be a software issue (the game, not my hardware).

I'm reading reports on other forums of similar problems, some the same as mine, others where it happens when the live service ask you if you want to add your opponent to your friends list.

Anyone else seeing this problem? Highly annoying, they better fix it (although it won't affect our league, it just sucks that you have to reboot after each game).

 

I played a couple of games online last night and never ran into the problem? hmmm very interesting.

 

Now that I'm researching it more, it's VERY widespread and a specific bug (not like a random DDE error, as it's repeatable and happens every time).

Consider yourself lucky I guess.

 

Mine did it last night after my game with SixWonSix.

 

Yeah, and it's happening with brand new and original XBox's too.

Gotta get that patched ASAP.

 

Now I'm reading that it has to do with DD5.1 being enabled.

For the people getting this bug after every game, try turning off DD5.1 in the XBox dashboard and leaving it on Dolby Surround.

That sucks for us home theater guys, and is almost annoying is having to reboot after each online game, but if it fixes it I'll probably keep it on Dolby Surround until a patch is issued.

 

Looks like we will be downgraded in sound quality until it is patched

 

maybe thats why I havent seen it because I dont have the fancy sound system so have it on the lower sound setting.

 

Does it still give you a win for stats purposes?

 

Nope, which is odd since the game is over. I guess it uploads that info as you are going back to the main menu.

Something else they need to fix.

They're supposed to give you a win if someone quits on you, but it doesn't record anything.

Who cares though, the scoreboards are garbage anyway... alot of 1min quarter cheezers, quitters, etc and they'll probably be reseting them monthly.

Our scoreboards will be 100x better and legit.

 

If play with my custom playbook...I get divergence errors.... :cry:

 

Yeah, I got the XboxJon crash as well. I guess it might be a 5.1 issue. But the game play was great. Got to play IndigoVDub, and no lag, and voice was clear all the way through.

I did, but thats not the point. This game obviously has some issues that need taken care of. Hopefully sooner than later. But on the good side, the game totally kicks butt!

 

Let's get a slider/settings/difficulty thread going where we can post up our observations with online games and the differences in All Pro, Pro, etc and any slider adjustments that we might want to tweak around.

The freeze bug for DD5.1 users is a big one, but it seems like we can get around it until a patch is made.

Also annoying is the onside kick bug (where the kicking team gets to retry the kickoff if it goes out of bounds).

wow, that's a big one too. Is it repeatable, as in every time it happens if you try a custom playbook?
