Don't forget bowling, darts, horseshoes and competitive eating. Except you still get to eat in that last one no matter how badly you perform.

I heard on the radio that the players agreed to a salary cap of 52mil, the owners wanted a 40mil LOL

so on the radio they were saying the players are just trying to make the owners look bad by offering some crazy cap number.

    ahh the games they play

12 Fowards, 6 Defensemen and 2 Goalies dress. And I believe the team can carry up to three four "scratched" players. So 23-24.

I don't care, I NEED to see Hockey. Don't end it. Go for as lomg as it takes to get settled, up's and down's included, as long as the end result ='s Hockey.

It's just another last ditch effort to try to get something going. I got $10 bucks that it fails.

I hope you're right. I get the impression that neither side wants to be the ones "responsible" for losing the season. I'm sure that the players realized that they could never prevent cost certainty and that they needed to get as much as they can. Hopefully they will grind out the numbers tonight and save this season.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.....DROP THE PUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    breaking news

The NHL has filed a counter-proposal to the NHL Players' Association offer, upping the salary cap to $42.5 million. The NHL has told NHLPA executive director Bob Goodenow that it's a final offer with no flexibility or room to negotiate and must have a response by 11 a.m. tomorrow

PLEASE... Is it possible to agree pn a 1 year temp offer. So they can play, and still negotiate for it next year.

I have a gut feeling that there WILL be a season. The only way I see it working is if the NHLPA accepts the latest NHL Offer. If they come back with a counter proposal...Season OVER....I think both sides are playing hot potato and no one wants to be holding it at the deadline. If the players throw it back to the NHL there just won't be enough time to work it out. My problem with all of this is why, if the NHLPA is willing to accept a cap, did it go this far. That is why the NHLPA needs to suck it up and take what they are being offered.

My guess is they will and we will be seeing hockey this season after all.

I could be wrong and I pray I'm right.

This was the second letter sent from Bettman to Goodenow on 2/15. I have put in red bold what I think is the most frustrating part and I think Bettman is showing it was his as well. By the way, I'm not a fan of Bettman, but I'm liking him more than the NHLPA as of right now.

I'm proud of Bettman for trying. At the same time I'm glad he's not just giving in, he has more spine then I thought. The players need to realize hockey isn't big enough to support some of their egos at this point. Although it is my favorite sport ;).

He mentioned in both letters something along the lines of if the game isn't too damaged. I thought it was cool because he was driving a point that they might have hurt themselves more than they helped.

Tick, tick, tick, tick....The clock is working against them. I show 35min. I see them pushing back the press conference if there is some meaningful conversation.
