After starting the "thanks whore" thread in the other forum we've managed to get in contact with GameBattles through Keso Paghuni. We've gotten them to agree to help set up a 6s ladder assuming we can generate interest among enough players and teams to make it worthwhile. There would be buy-ins for teams, roster limits, limited roster transactions, etc. like other "professional" gaming ladders and communities. The buy-in for each team would be somewhere between $100 and $200 most likely, and the roster limit would most likely be 8 players. There would be a regular season where teams would compete for seeding and then a playoff.

We're not sure whether the buy-ins would occur before the season or before the playoffs, but these are details that we can discuss here.

    This threads main goals:

    1. See how many people/teams are interested in higher stakes 6s (If you have a team that would be interested post below)
    2. See if anyone has any ideas regarding rules that should be implemented

    Teams:
    1. God Squad
    2. 9th Wonder
    3. Never Unlucky
    4. Reckless Abandon
    5. Reality Check
    6. Pucker Up
    7. Bounce Around Boys
    8. Alumni
    9. High Motivation
    10. Mango Moments
    11. Unfinished Business
    12. Competitive Nature
    13. Crease Crashers
    14. Provance Farms (NzT)
    15. Coconut Crab Killers
    16. Collateral Damage
    17. Big Slapers (Tino)
    18. Fearful
    19. o Ghost o

Its 6v6, gameplay should not apply, only thing I see is lagouts and AI scoring being an issue

To anyone that has ever complained about having nothing to play for in this game or the lack of good 6's teams....buy in to this. It'd be max $20 per person on a team and this would guarantee tons of competitive quality 6's with a chance to win money. Not one player on this site has a reason not to do this

Honestly this isn't going to determine the best team. I can almost guarantee teams like Fearless and Composure, who are arguably two of the better teams, won't front the money.

But if no company is willing to sponsor the events, this is probably one of the only ways to award something to the winner.

If you have $60 to buy the game, why not pay $20 to actually make it fun?

First place wouldn't be the only place that is paid. IE if 16 teams pay in then most likely with the way to ensure that teams are motivated to play, the 4th through 8th position would win their entry fee back with 1st - 3rd playing for more than that.

I'm not trying to derail the movement, because I think it's a good thing for the community. Just saying how I see it going down. Hopefully I'm wrong and every top team signs up.

What is your opinion on this? I don't understand why a "top" team like Fearless wouldn't sign up. They play the game as much if not more than anyone, they think they are the best...they are essentially being paid to play what they already are playing. I seriously have to questions someones life if a team like that wouldn't sign up.

Reckless would play, sounds like a great idea. Been waiting for something like this.

This is nothing more than a pay to play club league that has been proposed many times over the years in leagues. Have people put money up and have the winners of the season win money and a portion go to the site. Something like this could be done here or any wheres really. It wouldn't generate enough teams/interest like that.

I'm not sure if even on the same level as a year end tournament for EASHL clubs that was originally proposed and meant to get sponsors & create more interest back in the game itself. Sounds more like a poker weekend party where a handful of guys just want to do some gambling with a game they like to play and are good at. You might squeeze out 16 teams that would be interested.

You're not getting the point at all, are you?

I want to respond to everything you said but it's wrong on so many levels.

This community wants 6's tournaments, prizes, etc. from sponsors and EA. The sad truth is that EA will never do this and we need to move on. In order for anything to ever happen we need to do it ourselves. This is the first step in making the competition level as good as 09 and 10, even better.

Seriously, why wouldn't we just do this on a site like here that is far better than GB anyway?

If all we are doing is fronting the money for a tournament this could easily be done anywhere, why not give a piece of the buy-in to Tris who actually deserves it unlike the peeps at GB?

GB has a bigger platform for expansion. We have the community here, but we need it to reach those who arent necessarily here already.

GB is just a start. Currently they are most likely the best option. For this site to do this who would you trust with the money? Also I believe that there are a ton of laws involved that would be a headache for this site to go through

GB has how many members in total? NHL will reach new people, if its on this site the only the people who already play will be the ones who see it.

I agree that Fearless would almost be a lock to at least get their entry fee back, but I haven't played with them aside from once in the past couple months, so I can't say for sure that they wouldn't put up the money. I just feel like they wouldn't enter if it took an entry fee. Can QCs even play in this with money involved?

From reading the OP, there wasn't a 6s ladder created prior to this. Maybe that would be why?
