Please Vote! S15 Masterton/Clancy Community Involvement

As we on the award committee get back on track with the timeline, the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy and the King Clancy Memorial Trophy are great awards to start discussion over. The Bill Masterton is "awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey", while the King Clancy Memorial Trophy is awarded to the person judged to provide the best media presence on PSN during the season.

In LG, the Masterton is ideally meant for someone that has either been on LG for a long time, and is generally a good influence/has a good impact in the community, or someone that had to deal with a dumpster fire all season and didn't complain/quit, or even embraced it and tried to improve the situation around them.

Examples of Masterton winners from past seasons include @PieR Talent taking over for @BROSKI_002 on S12 Philadelphia and keeping the team going through shambles (Pier went on to be the S12 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy winner). In S13 @radicalapex won the award to honour his tenure as an owner for 4+ years. In S14, the award was given to @oRecki to honour the legacy he left in the PSN community.

Anything along the lines of these examples or these descriptions are welcome suggestions/nominations for the Bill Masterton.

When it comes to the King Clancy, I think it comes as no secret that media this season was not exactly at an all-time high. As the community is always great for creative suggestions for the Masterton, this is an even better chance to take a shot in the dark for someone you think deserves it. Perhaps someone who did great media in the past that was never honoured? Someone who does media spontaneously but you feel gives the community great enjoyment with their content? Any suggestion/nomination is welcome for this award as long as the individual has done a type of media on PSN at some point.

Appreciate the early nominations but having explanations for why they should win the award can help the community rally behind your choices.

 

PurpleCrush for his many many seasons spent owning or GMing in the league, he has officially retired and deserves to be honoured as the community did with Rad. Ginger the memelord was just about the only media psn seen all season easy choice.

Masterton: @MrPurpleCrush Cody recently retired he’s a great guy and great owner lets send him off with this trophy

King Clancy: @GingerNHL the memes are simply hilarious and nobody else posted a better forum this season

 

Just wanted to expand a little on this; Cody has done more for the development of talent in this league than anyone else. There isn't another person that has the track record of taking players from the AHL and CHL under his wing and into his organization and helping them become respectable NHL caliber players. I believe there isn't a better example of contribution to the community than what Cody has done for the league.

 

Masterton: Without a doubt @MrPurpleCrush , Cody put his all into every team he was apart of and was around forever. He loved every player he had on his team and dedicated alot of time and effort into developing players and building solid teams and just the league in general for seasons and seasons. I think he deserves the recognition and appreciation one last time as he's retiring from playing. There were players who he developed and they went on their way after his team, and he just respected everyone at all times.

It should have a owners hall of fame or something like this. Sad to see carreer highlight stealing season highlight. If it's a S15 trophy, then Dangs deserve it 100%

I would like to see @MrPurpleCrush take it home as he has dedicated a very long time over here and has been nothing but a good dude to me bf helped me out as I knew basically nothing about PSN. One of the most supportive division rivals I’ll ever have lmao. Good luck on whatever you move into next @MrPurpleCrush !

 

i agree with this 100%. Cody was the guy that helped me get into LG and even though we never got a chance to play together he always checked in and helped me keep advancing my game.
