I wanted to take this opportunity to make a major announcement for S4 bidding. Moving into Season 4, the League will finally be able to enforce the following restrictions:
    • All prospect players (new sign ups - less than 10 AHL games played - less than 15 CHL games played) WILL NOT be eligible for NHL or AHL bidding
    • All prospect players (new sign ups - less than 10 AHL games played - less than 15 CHL games played) WILL NOT be eligible for full time call up to the NHL and AHL
    • All veteran and amateur players current signed up NOW or whom sign up PRIOR to AHL bidding(Feb 2nd) whom DO NOT receive a BID in NHL or AHL bidding will be entered into CHL bidding BUT retain their NHL and AHL call up eligibility.
    • All Veteran players WHOM SIGN UP AFTER AHL BIDDING goes live(Feb 2nd) WILL NOT be eligible for full time call up to the NHL or AHL for S4.
    • All Amateur players WHOM SIGN UP AFTER AHL BIDDING goes live(Feb 2nd) WILL NOT be eligible for full time call up to the NHL for S4.
    Current Sign Up Numbers
    • Amateur Forward 424
    • Amateur Defender 236
    • Amateur Goalie 97
    • Veteran Forward 267
    • Veteran Defender 148
    • Veteran Goalie 74
    • Prospect Forwards 460
    • Prospect Defense 164
    • Prospect Goalies 111
Requirements for Bidding (NHL - AHL)
    • NHL requires 85 defense to be selected in bidding, AHL requires 132 defense selected in bidding leaving a surplus of 133 Amateur and Veteran defense after AHL bidding(defense was our #1 concern)
    • NHL requires 237 players to be won in bidding.
    • AHL requires 342 players to be won in bidding.
    • We have a total of 1588 Veteran and Amateur players signed up for S4(only players NHL and AHL eligible) to fill a total of 579 spots.
    • That leaves us with 1009 players whom are NHL and AHL eligible to be called up that will be in CHL bidding THEN randomly assigned to your AHL TC.(~33 players PER organization eligible for call up).
What Does This Mean For the NHL?
    • This will offer THE MOST competitive experience possible by ensuring that NHL bidding is basically the ONLY way for players to get into the NHL.
    • NHL Bidding will become the MOST IMPORTANT time of the season for team's to set themselves up for success.
    • ECU's and Call ups will be limited to AHL roster players(Veteran and Amateurs) and those players(Veteran or Amateurs) whom are signed up for the season current and whom management to sign up PRIOR to AHL bidding(Feb 2)
What Does This Mean For The AHL?
    • AHL scouting becomes MORE IMPORTANT than another season in the PSN league! AHL GMs will not be able to rely on new players (prospects) to fill the void like they have been able to from season one - season three.
    • AHL Bidding also becomes SUPER IMPORTANT! Everyone knows that team selections are done via bidding, BUT in season's past the AHL Training camps were so large, and there was ZERO call up restrictions, that mistakes in bidding weren't nearly as costly.
    • Prospects become ONLY ECU eligible which allows the AHL to scout future prospects and plan ahead for future drafts.
What Does This Mean For the CHL?
    • STABILITY! I CANNOT stress that enough! Prospect players WILL NO LONGER be eligible to be called up to the AHL or NHL!!!!! That is HUGE for the CHL teams to build and plan for a competitive season without having to worry about losing players.
    • FUTURE EXPANSION! Now that players and managers will see the stability for team building in the CHL the hope is for us to drop to the 60 limit quickly! Currently we have 20 OHL teams and 14 QMJHL teams. That leaves us room for 22 WHL teams and an additional 4 QMJHL teams.
    Any questions let me know!!

What is the possibility of forcing A status on all prospects for this one season in order to properly fill the AHL pool?

    Example:

    • All players not signed in NHL bidding will be in AHL bidding, regardless of V, A or P, provided they signed up prior to AHL bidding.
    • Any P status players signed in AHL bidding automatically are given A status, while V and A status players remain unchanged.
    • All remaining P status players go into CHL bidding and are ineligible for full-time call up in the AHL.
    • Any new players go directly into CHL, business as usual
    • Any late-sign-up Vets or Amateurs follow the current RA rules in place
This eliminates the need to have prospects in the AHL at all. Any of the P status players who had A forced on them can have an RA tag, or something to indicate that they aren't NHL eligible full time this season but all AHL players would be eligible for NHL ECU.

    Just an idea...
