Verizon Rolls out 5Mps Broadband!!!

They are saying right now it's available in Keller, Texas for as low as $35 a month!!! Pretty soon it will be available in California Florida & soon after all over! Unlike cable, bandwidth isn't shared among customers, and unlike DSl, you don't have to be close to a central office to get optimal performance.

The pricing scheme, which they say isn't merely an introductory offer, touts 5Mbps/2Mbps (down/up) for $39.95 a month as a standalone package, or $34.95 a month as part of a local and/or long-distance calling plan. You'll also be able to get a 15Mbps/2Mbps connection for $44.95 a month (what I pay now for cable) as part of the calling package or $49.95 a month stand alone!

They are also saying that pricing for 30Mbps/5Mbps will be announced later!

Basically, they say the 5Mbps connection is about 15x faster than the cable and DSL we get now which is usually 1.5Mbps!!!

 

no big news here. we've had 5 Mbps for half a year with Cogeco High Speed Cable Internet (Rogers for most of Toronto). It's only $50.00 CDN i believe.

I know a guy in the Tampa area that's testing Verizon's fiber DSL connection, he says it's awesome. Can't wait!

Although, the part about it not being a shared connection is a misnomer, since all interenet connections are shared, the internet is one big shared network.... what matters is your guaranteed speed from the ISP, which with most good cable connections is close to 100% advertised speed (hopefully the fiber DSL will be similar in that way).

Exactly. Marriage is a religious institution, something between a man and woman.

Fine, give gays civil rights if they're living together or whatever, but to allow them to "marry" is a farce.

What am I afraid of? The world that my kids are going to have to grow up with, where homosexuality is considered normal and acceptable and the liberal media and TV shows are stuffing it down our throats.

What does getting divorced have to do with marriage not being a religious institution?

Their views on gays will most likely be whatever their parents teach them. If Jon were to constantly bash gays around his kids as they grow up, I can guarantee you they will probably be against gays.

 

But getting a divorce doesnt make marriage non-religious I guess is what I'm saying.
