    You know what's dumb?

    Playing a 15 minute game which is 3/4 of one NHL period where whichever team scores first has a gigantic advantage and every top team just traps the fuck out of each other because if you get behind you have to play against the clock instead of your opponent.

    Also every player has the same exact build and you can't afford to have a shot without gimping your player. No PP or PK specialist builds everyone is exactly the same and we all get gassed at the same rate.

    Nuge's pro series game I watched the other day shows exactly what I'm talking about. They got worked in their own zone all game but got a 2-0 lead and clocked the other team

    I think it would be too much for EA NHL to handle..they should just concentrate on putting the game mode in the goddamn game..

    If Line Changes did come to EASHL will it work for 6V6 Hockey league. Line changes would be great to have but would it be to much for Owner and GM and I wonder how leagues would handle it!

    I've talked about this quite a few times over the last couple years, especially as the next gen got closer.

    Still offer the same EASHL where you play your own guy thru the whole game. Instead, I think EA should give the option to for a realistic ultra hardcore mode. This mode supports longer periods & actual human player line changes. So, for leagues like LG, your whole team would play 'in' the game. Forget the backup goalie, as you only need 1 to play the whole game. 3 lines controlled by 15 players. 32 total players in each game. Like I said, ultra realistic hardcore mode.

    Logistically, for a competitive 6s leagues, this may not work, as it would be near impossible to your whole team in the same game due to availability issues. Seriously though, how cool does this sound for even drop-ins games or club...

    As an add'l option, maybe just 2 lines go into the game (11 players w goalie). Endurance is your indicator to make a line change. A 'red target' would light up just like it does now.


    As for the idea of just going to the bench and get a new fresher 'you', the periods are WAY too short to have to worry about doing that. Perhaps if periods were longer, then yeah. As for the timer, that should also be an option in the lounge when setting up the game. Ranked games with longer timers.

    I like the idea. Makes the game more strategic. It would also show your pro's fatigue level at that point.

    I think 12 is enough, its bad enough that people lag out or rage quit but the fact that you can't have people join mid game makes bigger numbers a headache. If they're is line changes I wouldn't mind that it would be limited to switching builds mid game. Use you OFD build during a powerplay or something like that. Also remove the attribute cap so that the DFD builds can be useful again.

    I think 12 is good. So if we had a lag out, that person on the other line would have to double shift. i think the power play and pk lines are a good idea too.

    Line changes in EASHL is one of those things that can sound good in theory but I am confident that it will not make the game any better, in fact I think it will make the gameplay worse no matter how it is set up.

    Just so we're clear, what I meant in my OP was 6v6 human players, you line change for yourself (identical builds or different builds idk).

    Has anyone suggested 5min OT then shootout as a setting for OTP? Also a 6v6 shootout mode? Both would benefit this league and any other online OTP leagues. 6v6 shootout could be a setting in OTP. Allow us to start the game from any period as well. Very simple settings which shouldn't be to hard to implement.

    I think line changes are a cool idea but I can't see them working. I don't have faith that EA would be able to handle the moving parts correctly causing more issue. 11 v 11(two of every position, one goalie) seems possible due to FIFA having 12v12. Game time would be relevant to how many players, that is a huge factor that would make this work. Then there are server concerns that we already experience now with 6v6. Endurance is something I could see playing a major issue as well. If it is not handled correctly, then the chance for mis-matches and abuse is extremely high.

    From a League stand point it could create a cool new environment, I just personally don't see how the current EA team that brought us a next gen title without EASHL would possible be able to make a feature like this work well.

    I'd love to see more changes for player builds. The idea we all are basically the same at legend three is true. I wouldn't mind seeing the five minute ot and shootout come back as well but only those players controlled by a human are eligible for the shoot out.

    Personally, I like the idea of playing with multiple lines and different attribute levels. It adds strategy to try and matchup lines within the game and line changes are a big part of hockey. If it's clunky like most things ea implements then no, but I feel as though if it was done well it would add an extra layer to eashl. Right now endurance/fatigue is totally worthless. But having never played like this I don't know whether it would create a bigger cluster fuck or actually open up the ice more with fresh players v tired players. I know people that played before like this had some issues with the game play being more choppy but I think if we all had to play in this system, we'd adapt pretty quickly and line changes would become fairly seamless.
