Just off the top of my head a team with a large amount of players can play more games against the bottom level teams that the 6-8 player teams might not be able to do depending on availability. As of now, I don't think we should change the rules just because 1 club doesn't want to tell a couple friends they can't play. If they are so close they should be able talk and work it out amongst themselves. Another idea would be for that team to split into 2 teams of 6 so everyone can play. edit: I'm not against raising the roster limit to 9 or 10, I just think some teams shouldn't be allowed to have more than others because it creates an unfair advantage.
If a player is proven to have recovered tags they will be removed. In order to remove a whole team the evidence would have to be overwhelming (3 or more players proven to be involved). While the wording of the 2nd half of the rule might not be ideal the real issues are covered in the first part of the rule. There will be a flat rate for the first 8 players for this tournament. The goal is to have an active regular season and having teams try to limit themselves to 6 players just to increase their profit margin doesnt help with that. The additional players beyond 8 would cost money if we decide to do that, it appears you'd be on board with that based on your response.
If a team is found having a player on a second tag their whole team should be kicked out immediately. If they choose to cheat then fuck them, if they choose to cheat with money on the line then kick them out. I'm not opposed to more people, I'm just saying a team like Fearless that runs the majority of their games with 6-7 people, and are still active shouldn't need to add players, or pay extra just like a team that uses 10 people shouldn't have to cut 2 people.
Any team proven to recover tags, no matter who/how many, should be entirely removed. Good luck ever proving it so I doubt this ever ends up being relevant, but it's a no brainer rule.
Then I don't think teams should be able to have over the limit of players even if they pay more. Shouldn't work one way, and not the other.
I still feel we should add something along the lines of the 'goalie cannot intentionally run into a player to draw a penalty. Video evidence will need to be provided for any complaints.' (Obviously it will be written better than that). I think we also need to have a small trustworthy BOG group to view and decide on complaints. Also, it says run down to replicate game time...does this mean exact period? Ex. Lag out and next whistle at 7 mins in the 2nd period. Do we wait until the 2nd period at 7 mins to take the penalty or do we start in the first at 7 mins? I think this statement is too vague.
Why shouldn't it? The minimum buy-in for a TEAM is $80. That is a fixed price. If you want to add a player it cost another $10. This is a pretty standard business practice, just because you have fewer users doesn't necessarily mean you deserve a better deal. I'm not necessarily for or against adding more players, but if we do allow it, it should come at an additional cost. And yes, any team using 2 accounts should be automatically disqualified.
Scheckel29 The reason that statement is vague right now is I dont know how the ladder will work yet, Tris is still working on it (Like would 10 points be a lot or a little? Would 100 points ruin a teams chances? etc.) It will most likely be a decent number of points for every game over 25%. With the amount of teams in the tournament it should be fairly easy to avoid playing the same team that often so it shouldnt be an issue.
Will be posting official rules tomorrow, all of your feedback will be considered and some changes will be made.
Before I post official/Final rules what does everyone think of this: Once the roster deadline passes teams cannot make any changes, however in order to prevent inactivity each team has 1 roster replacement for the tournament: In order to be eligible for a roster replacement a player has to be taken off the roster, that player must message AnthraxDusted and Tris10 confirming that they no longer wish to play. No refund will be given to that player. The replacement cannot be on any tournament roster, must be a new player The replacement must pay a $10 buy-in that will be added to the prize pool. Roster Replacements can occur only during the regular season when all of the above requirements are met.
Can you leave the team you're on then join another team? Or is it once you quit your team you're done for that season?
You cannot quit and join another, I'll add a word or 2 to say "cannot have participated in the tournament at any point" or something like that instead of "cannot be on any tournament roster"
