Each Season I have collected stats for each to team to formulate a Season Rating, These Ratings are Averaged together for each team to Create a Franchise Rating. This season I have decided to change up the formula, and in my opinion it has yielded better results. Old Formula for Season Ratings =PTS-(L*2)+(GD/4.25)+((PW*10)-20) (The result is rounded to 2 decimals) New Formula for Season Ratings =PTS-(L*2.5)-OTL+R2(GD/4.25)+(PW*4)+(RD0(PW/4)*(RD0*PW/4)*10)-R2(PL*2) PTS = Points L = Losses OTL = Overtime Losses GD = Goal Differential R2 = Round to 2 decimals RD0 = Round down to 0 decimals PW = Playoff Wins PL = Playoff Losses Under the old formula each playoff win added 10 Rating points, under the new formula each win adds 4 Rating points while losing subtracts 2 however each series win exponentially adds Rating points (10 for Round 1, 40 for Round 2 90 for Round 3 and 160 for the Finals). The New Formula has a greater bias toward playoff success compared to season success and also has less of a bias towards positive numbers then the old formula did. (From what i remembered they had 2 wins) Previous Threads S12: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/the-franchise-report.309439/ S13: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/franchise-ratings-updated-for-s13.310203/ S14: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/lghl-franchise-ratings-updated-for-s14.317630/ S15: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/franchise-ratings-updated-for-s15.325542/ S16: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/s16-franchise-ratings.331130/ S17: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/s17-franchise-ratings.335871/ S18: https://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/index.php?threads/s18-franchise-ratings.341259/ Charts Stats I also ended up collecting a lot of information as I had to enter this all by hand which means I was easily able to enter in Franchise Totals. S13 Chicago Blackhawks: -134.12 This Season Total Goals scored was 7586 (5.782 GPG) this is 3.34% up from last season (7334 which was 5.590 GPG) S19 Philadelphia Flyers Became the first Flyers team to win a game in the second round and ended up going to the finals for the first time in franchise history. For the first time in season 2 8th seed teams made the finals, This has never happened in the real life NHL Ever. The last time an 8th seed team in LG made the finals was the S10 New York Islanders who went on to beat the First seed Calgary Flames . The Boston Bruins continue to have the longest playoff series win drought in the league as they have not won a single playoff series since S1 (18 Straight Seasons) If each season were to equal a year this would be as long as the Real Life Toronto Maple Leafs playoff series win drought. (I know you probably already know this but they haven't won a series since 2004) The S19 LA Kings have set the record for most goals against in a single season at a whopping 442 Goals against the previous record was held by the S1 Arizona Coyotes who let in 423 goals against, by setting this record the S19 Kings also set the record for worst GD by any team in a single season (-261) which the S1 Coyotes were also the previous record holders of (-256) The Chicago Blackhawks Continue to have the longest playoff drought sitting at 7 straight seasons of no playoffs (Since S12) The S19 Minnesota Wild became the first Minnesota Team to make the Eastern Conference Finals, with 11 playoff wins. The S19 Arizona Coyotes Became first #1 Seed team to be swept in the first round, The First team with 60 wins to not win a single playoff game but not the first 60 win team to lose in the first round, The S10 New Jersey Devils became the first 60 win team to bow out in the first round after they lost in 6 games to the New York Islanders who much like the sharks went on to win the Stanley Cup.
