I am with playmaker in the fact that you cannot determine Awards by a team success. when you discuss Awards, it's about players abilities and talents not the rest of his teams talent. Its not possible to take some1 out of contention for an award bc his other 2 lines didnt win games. Just my opinion though.

 

The Hart is to go to whoever contributed most to their team's success. If a team doesn't have success than a player on that team can't win.

 

So you're saying that the Hart trophy would be awarded to a player that missed half the season in the NHL? This award should never go to a skater. What did GB help his team accomplish? A second round exit?

I completely agree with the fact that I should not receive the award, albeit I believe I did contribute the most to my team's lack of success. What I mean is I'm being taken out of award contention because my other two lines; the lines I have ZERO CONTROL OVER lost almost every game. I can understand it being a simulation and trying to copy that exactly, but in the NHL, a Top Player plays every game, not 1/3 of the games per week. Am I now being held responsible for the fact that I was the only one to win games on my team? If everyone else on my team had my record, we'd be in the playoffs I'm pretty sure.

A truly ignorant statement. In a 28 game season, I can contribute a MAXIMUM of 56 points to my team's playoff race. (Not a hockey guy, I feel like its 2 points for a win though). This season, from what I can see, the lowest playoff team was 89 points, a feat literally IMPOSSIBLE for me to accomplish on my own. Again, this isnt the real NHL, I can't hold my team's hand through every game they play regardless of if I'm Crosby in the AHL, therefore my team's success is taken out of my hands, and I am handicapped by my environment, which is perfectly fine with me, I made the effort to win games and didn't jump ship. I understand the decision. However, something to be considered and not so blatantly pushed off like there's no rhyme or reason for me to be in contention.

Like stated above, this isnt the real NHL, I cannot control what my other 2 lines do game in and game out. I can only show up and win mine.
