ive been playing for about a half hour or so and i have to say. im pretty impressed. I love the sound effects. puck handling is nowhere near nhl 09 but its still nice. some of the animations are very nice. I am addicted to switching to Kronwall and lining up that huge hit. the goalie animations are superb. I dont think this will be the year that I prefer 2k9 but its definitely a step in the right direction and i will be getting both games this year.
It's designed this way. You will notice puck handling with a player like Hossa is 20x easier then puck handling with your 4th liner. Each players skill dictates how well they can pull off those side to side moves, unlike NHL08 where every one could do it the same
i think its just getting used to the adjustment. Like switching to pro stick evo, i still find myself forgetting theres a turbo button. Im liking this game the more and more i play. I think 2k10(?? or whatever it will be called then) will be absolutely phenomenal. to me, this seems like EAs NHL 07. where they are laying groundwork for something great.
to start a fight, take control of your tough guy or enforcer (like Georges Laraque) And hit their other tough guys. Fights dont really happen with non-traditional (cough european) tough guys
ok i didnt play 2k8 that much so i dont know if this was in last years. But i could have swore that i just missed my intended target and ended up hitting my own guy.
Yup, it doesn't lock you to players on the other team, One thing we tried to do was tone the hitting down and one area was to make it more of a risk/reward where you could even check your own guys if you aren't careful
ive just gotten addicted with lining players up with kronwall. next thing i know. boom, hes saying hello to a teammate. im really digging this. im pleasantly surprised.
i slowed the team hit stuff down. This is the first hockey game ive played where the more i drink the better i play. The hit animations are nice. I wish EA would move to this kind. That magnet type stuff is stupid. Take elements from EA and stuff from 2k and you would have a perfect hockey game. edit: totally butchered this paragraph the first and second time.
you know what i mean man lol. speed burst lol. its kinda nice to have that option again. we'll see how it goes. ive been playing this game non stop for like an hour or 2 now and i like it more and more. Im officially excited for this game. PS. typing is>me ATM
