S17 Bidding Date Change Discussion

Bidding was just moved forward 2 weeks, without discussion, what are the thoughts of the players, management, and owners?

 

No! It just forced me to retire because of my vacation...

 

I don't agree w/ it, I don't see there being anything wrong w/ leaving it where it was. We need more sign ups to make this league as good as it could be. Moving bidding forward gives us less time to fill these positions of need and will inflate salaries in all leagues tremendously. Just my 2 cents.

I don't support it. We have to fill 30 spots in bidding and I don't think this is enough time for everyone to get their ducks in a row. If it wasn't right in the middle of christmas and new years then I think it would be ok.

A lot of people aren't even getting home from vacation until after new years.

Personally think it's not a good idea and that we'll need the extra 2 weeks to pad the signup numbers. But it's not a huge deal to me either way, I'll do them a favor and not contribute to the inevitable complaining.

I would love to get this started earlier, but for the sake of the league we need more signups.

We don't have the numbers we need to support the direction the league wants to go.

 

As a player, I don't mind. But for management and the sake of the league being full enough I think it's bad.

 

Everything is being rushed way to quickly. Should go back to the date is was before.

This is the most important offseason this league will ever have and we want to cut it by two weeks for what? I get that all of the ex-VHL guys are getting antsy but the current S16 LG playoffs are still going on. Out of respect to the guys still playing (and if I were one of them) I'm sure they'd like more than 1-2 weeks off without a virtual hockey commitment before starting up again. There are also a number of NHL owners who are still sorting out their GM/AHL management situation, so in order to ensure that every team is primed and ready to go for bidding its in the league's best interest to move slowly.

 

It's good for me since I am pumped to get this shit started. However, I can see why many people are against it.

Im ok with it. Either way is fine with me.im always prepared. Also what happens if we wait two more weeks and we still dont have enough sign ups. Then we waste two weeks of awesome fun time.

Airing of Grievances, Feats of Strength

 

Signups aren't just going to suddenly stop in 12 days when NHL bidding starts. There will be the week of NHL bidding and the week of AHL bidding for late signups for the CHL. I doubt numbers will be an issue.
