The Leaguegaming Golf Tour (LGGT) Update

I'm hoping to create my local courses I play in RL. I've been playing around with the PC version but my aging PC struggles . Still, it gives me the option of trying things out, albeit it very slowly

 

...so not sure if it's too early in the morning for me to understand...but does the game allow for saving your progress part way through the course and then resuming?...if so, I can see myself playing a couple of holes at a time depending on the buzy-ness of my schedule

That i'm not sure sure of, but seeing as you are playing alone, I'd imagine you could walk away and come back .

We'll have to see when the game comes out, but getting your rounds in shouldn't be that difficult due to the fact you can do them alone anytime you want during the week.

 

What would the deadline be to finish your weekly round? When people have the option of playing at their leisure, they tend to be obnoxious about it. (see LGHL draft)

 

HB Studios posted in their forums today saying the game should be released the week of August 25th. It could be the week before, but the more likely scenario is the first one.

Really sucks that that we basically have to wait another month and having NHL come out a couple weeks afterwards is annoying.

 

Deadlines would be as defined in the game, upon Tournament setup.

 

Here is what they wrote on the forums for you lazy people 8)

"Hi everyone,

While we don't have an official release date yet, we have narrowed it down to a likely two week period.

It is looking like The Golf Club will be released and Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC the week of August 25th! There is a small possibility that the game will be released the week of August 18th, if Microsoft and Sony are able to push it through but, the more likely scenario is the week of the 25th.

Please understand that this is all predicated on the notion that the second submission goes smoothly, but we are confident that the game is in good shape. That being said, there is a possibility that things could change...though we all hope not!

As soon as we have anything more definitive, we will absolutely let you know."

Haha....I normally load a bunch of possibly interesting lg pages on my iPad while I have a wifi connection in the morning before work.....then read them while commuting or through the day....but then post when I get back home...so the updates weren't there...and yes I had to refresh the page in order to post....so they were there after the refresh....but didn't see/read the newer posts

I feel like the game will be delayed until after Destiny and NHL. Hopefully I'm wrong, because the likelihood of half the guys saying they are interested now, won't be after the 9th.

I would be interested in making a course for the league, a Major if possible... we can call it the Kavaner Invitational haha - Top 50 in Fedex points or something lol

Just let me know if you are still looking for people! I have a really good idea with one of our local courses here, the front 9 in all wooded area and the back 9 is weaving through the housing subdivision around the course, its pretty sweet!

Due to the sheer amount of courses available, we will have a lot to choose from, and any course going on the tour will be evaluated prior.

As far as majors, I would think the course will have to be fairly immaculate and challenging to be considered. I have aspirations of creating a Major caliber course too, but as I told [MENTION=4]Tris10[/MENTION], it will probably be a couple seasons down the road, because I'll want it to be worthy of that and not just thrown in there because I created it.

One thing is for certain, eventually we do want to showcase the courses created by our members, but we're all going to have to learn to use the course creator first!!.

 

Will thier be LT Trophies for the league?

 

Do they have any real life courses like TPC Sawgrass, Valhalla etc? or are they all random (I know random is not the right word but created from scratch I guess lol)

Just we could run the actual PGA schedule till you and Tris have complied a full schedule of courses tried and tested? (from our community or the GolfClub community)

Just a thought, maybe be able to get us out there playing faster then spending an extra week on playing courses yourselves and figure out which are realistic and which are just bad lol

EDIT: I am sure you guys have it mostly figured out anyways, but just wanted to throw any ideas your guys way to try and help.

I believe that HB studios does have some courses, but user created courses will be the basis for this game. If someone creates a accurate depiction of a real life course, then we'd be as open to using it as any other well designed course.
@Tris10 has the steam version so he's already aware of some courses. Plus a quick google search or visit to HB Studios forums can yield some good recommendations.

Community members will likely be our best resource for suggesting/reviewing courses.
We aren't going to be relying on just the current member base of LG to support this league. We are looking to attract those people who are as hardcore about golf, as some of us are about hockey.

One thing is certain, there will be NO shortage of courses for us to choose from, good or bad.
