Some pretty good bands listed here for sure... the Foos, Green Day, Linkin Park (not the latest album) and Breaking Benjamin. Lately I've been listening to some of the local Toronto-area bands like Protest the Hero, Alexisonfire, Evan's Blue and Billy Talent. I'm not sure how popular these bands are south of the border but I'd recommend checking them out.

All great bands....Drowing Pool's first album was great. And Judas Priest is one of my favorite classic metal bands, I have almost all the early stuff.

This is by no means the best all-time obviously, but these bands always have a song in a mp3 playlist.

    1. Avenged Sevenfold- Waking the Fallen was masterful, best cd. wow. City of Evil is what the masses liked and put Avenged on the Map. I got the new cd that is released next Tuesday and WOW. Its sooo good!!!!

    2. Escape the Fate- Screaming, Melody, growling, a perfect mix. Too bad the lead singer is deep into heroin, all in all a Good Band from Vegas.

    3. Scary Kids, Scaring Kids- Some guys who are from Gilbert,AZ They are amazing. Up and Coming You will see... Their new cd is great too

BTW, I love 5 F Death punch and Papa Roach..to those who previously posted.. Good stuff.

There is one and ONLY one #1 rock band, and that is AC/DC

    2. Alice in Chains - and unfortunately, they are just not the same since Layne died (god rest his soul)....(sigh)

    3. Tied for 3rd: Led Zepplin and Lynard Skynard

....love classic rock, don't really pay attention to what's newer now a days, as the quality of music is being choked out due to the Internet, and people downloading music.

Fair enough Crackinbacks but the point of this thread is to list active bands that are the current favourites. Some people's current favourites are these older bands I understand but what I have never understood is how people can listen to the same bands their whole lives on a regular basis. There are so many bands out there. It's equivalent to watching the same movie or reading the same book over and over...

I am already getting some different names I have not taken the time to listen too. I am sure by this list I will have alot more tunes on my Ipod in the next coming week, :)

I'll list a few that havn't been mentioned.

    1) Ozzy - I too have a hard time letting go of my old favorites, and I really enjoy the new album.
    2) Daughtry - Sorry, I heard it so much the album grew on me.
    3) Alice Cooper - Another veteran and I like the latest album. Just saw him in concert too - always puts on a GREAT live show.

For a CD put out by the American Idol machine; I thought this would suck. Daughtry definitely has a good sound though. I'd like to hear something a little more hard rock from him though. Something with the sound of Fuel or Staind would be perfect for his voice. I definitely dig this disc though...
