LG Pro Series Season 6 Official Rules Thread

You can play EASHL at 2am, get in the dressing room and hit "Start Matchmaking". Its a novel concept.

 

Why can't a game be scheduled for 2 am? You're asking for our availability for the whole season on December 30th, how can you expect people to commit to a game at 9pm on February 8th? I know for my team we're not going to put our availability for any games earlier than 12am, simply because we do not know what we will be doing February 8th on December 30th.

Schedules should be given on a weekly basis (LIKE LG!?!?!). Everyone on our team either have a job or school and do not know their work schedules a month in advance.

 

The full schedule will be laid out day 1 then teams will have the freedom and flexibility to change it from there. Honestly I could ask for peoples availability from 7am until 5am and someone might want a game at 6am. If you think the times should be expanded upon thats absolutely fine and we can discuss that, I just see a significant number of teams responding to 2am as a time slot with "No"

 

How the fuck do you guys play this game that late.. 2 am is 3 am my time.... even 2 am ur playing until 3... do you guys not work ffs lol Kidden Tendy I love you

 

We have a few players that are west coast. For example, 2amEST is 11pm for Keck, it will be very rare that he can make a game at 9 or 10pm EST (6 or 7pm his time).

 

Eh. I'm not a fan of the scheduled start times either, as it would be rather tough to balance with LG currently going and some of us in other leagues that potentially run late. I know that I'd choose PS over a different league, but I dont know if the same can be said for some of these guys that may wind up on less competitive teams. I just don't want to sit around every night all night and play NHL. Many of us work, many of us have other things to take care of and I think a schedule on top of a schedule may do more harm than good. I think the freedom to choose when you played your games on X360 was one of the most appealing features about pro series.

I don't know if the feature exists on this version of leaguegaming that allowed pro series to work so well on the previous gen, but is that an option here?

 

The feature still exists, the old format was never what I wanted for Pro Series down the line and it has many flaws that didnt have a simple fix. This new system may not be perfect but it does eliminate many of those flaws.

The "scheduled start times" shouldnt make it take more of your time, it should take less. Previous PS tournaments had a minimum of 30 games, this tournament would only have more than 30 if we get 17+ teams. If you know that Tuesdays normally suck for your team you tell me you cant play Tuesdays. If 9 and 10s dont work you cant play 9s/10s. Can you play weekends? Very few teams played weekends in previous Pro Series because they assumed others wouldnt be. You can say that you're available for Fridays or Saturdays if you choose to be and you'll only be scheduled on those dates if other teams can also do that.

For people who manage to fit 2-3 leagues into their schedules this shouldnt be an issue, its no different and you have 10 players on your roster for a reason.

 

Makes sense. It really doesn't matter to me either way, I was just trying to figure out a way to please everybody but that seems to be impossible here

 

As im reading all these posts the only ppl that want a scheduled pro series is cd we all pay to play this tourny let's take a vote or somthing

I also have only seen nuge come up with an actual system. Pretty sure hes not getting paid to run this. Why dont one of you step up and do it then?

 

Merch no one is saying Nuge shouldn't run it. He does a great job. All people are doing is voicing concerns on how tough this will be. If players on your roster go deep into Lg playoffs it will be very tough. Iv never been in multiple leagues for a reason because of having multiple schedules. I'm not interested in playing really late since I hv a job most days of the week early am and mainly I organize the team together. Either way I'm sure it will be a success.

 

No i get what you are saying. All im trying to say is before saying that you do not want them to be scheduled, you should first come up with an alternative. Without scheduling lets say (all hypotheticals) composure only plays after 12EST so Keck can be on, and your team only plays before 11PM EST since you guys all work, what happens then?

Having a schedule means that EVERYONE has to abide by some sort of standard. And if I understand nuge correctly, if CD and SQ are scheduled to play 10/11 pm they can both agree to play at 1AM if they want to anyways.

 

Yes, the limitation on times (9, 10, 11, 12, 1) are for the start of season scheduling, if 2 teams agree to play at 6pm on a Sunday or 4am on a Tuesday they can do that through a reschedule.

 

im pretty sure you can reschedule games whenever you need to. this is just going to add some form of stability and consistency to the tournament, to help views and to just ensure it gets completed.

I get the complaints and everyone saying its terrible but its not as strict as you think if you actually read the rules. Reschedule your games as you see fit just make sure you get them all in.

 

I get the idea of it and it would be ideal if LG was not going on. We will have a talk as a team but the old system worked for most teams. I'm not looking to beat a dead horse so let's move past the issue and hopefully all works out.

 

Well that's the other problem, we only play teams twice a season, games are more important now. If we had the old format we'd play games with anyone on our roster since we can play 100+ games a season, personally now i don't think there is a need for a 10 man roster because we have to schedule our games so why not just schedule games when your best 6 can play. This season we'll be playing with our best 6 as much as we can because we don't have the luxury of making up games if we lose due to playing with people out of position or using 'backups'.

 

this is a good point. really sucks for the 10th guy like cakes, thats gonna have to watch from the sidelines

 

i get you are allowed to reschedule the games but what if the other team doesn't want to? Example being Compusure wants to play at 1, the other team wants to keep it at 11 or 12 (whichever), whats from stopping the team from saying fuck you composure if you can't play it then too bad you forfeit? This could happen for any team that has an availability change 3 or 4 weeks after you submit the original availability.

 

Are you really complaining that the games are going to mean too much, and are too important? Isn't that what most of us have been waiting for? Meaningful, competitive, 6s against everyones TOP lines?
