A lot of people still have 14, and if they don't they can buy it for what, 30 bucks? We'd arguably have a larger league on 14 with the current members and leftovers than we would for 14.5. Either way I see it you can go to a new game people are hesitant to get/don't want to get because they believe it isn't worth it, or you can stay on the game we all have. League growth will likely be restricted in both cases, but in one of those cases we keep the current population.

And nobody can really say they're trading in NHL 14 for NHL 15, it's 2 bucks the trade in value doesn't even cover the guarantee on the disc. Like you said people could easily switch back for their LG games. It's not like you can't buy a game just because LG won't use it.

NHL 15 is plainly a rip off.

People who make video games should have dignity and pride in their work and wow, EA has none. This is a shameful way to try make a dollar. It's hard to believe they are even releasing this installment. For most developers, a release like this would be career suicide... hmm

Agreed, it's nothing crazy but back in NHL 11 people were willing to move from NHL 10 to a worse product, at least this time it's better even though it's an improvement.

I don't think I'll be convinced that 14 is the better option for the league but I definitely respect the people who would rather stay on 14 if their reason isn't "it's the exact same game", because it's not.

    This is getting old...

NHL 15 on ONE/PS4 is so bare bones its ridiculous. A good upgrade to game play and presentation with almost every game mode and so many other options taken out.

and from what I've seen in a few video's and people's feedback to the minimal changes made to 360/PS3 versions really just makes me want to never buy a game from EA again.

I really enjoy playing 6s and LG but will only be playing the next few seasons if it remains on 360 because this guy isn't buying another NHL game made by EA until it's a complete game again.

I read on EA's website that from just "ultimate team services" they made over 380 million dollars. From that stat alone it baffles me that they couldn't expand their NHL dev. team a bit more to ensure their next gen game was complete and their prev. gen game was more than an update or two.

There isn't any doubt that the league will go to NHL 15 on 360, but the only remaining question is just how many will follow?

Why couldn't one of the minor changes be a more competent poke check? Sure the puck is right there for the taking but I prefer to sweep the leg. I'd pay $60 to fix this.

How is this surprising to anyone. The amount of work that went into the 360 version was less then previous years, so much so that to some it feels like a patch (which it most likely is with a little more polish). Now we have the same two sides arguing: People in camp NHL 15 like NugeTV saying the game feels much different etc, while the play hasn't changed drastically. The physics patch will make the game feel a bit different for sure so Nuge isn't lying (weird how I'm standing up for nuge twice in a month damn). This seriously comes down to what the league decides and if the league is worth the $60 because unless your playing 1v1 for money it is a better patch and will be patched this next year.

People buying NHL on either system are paying for an over payed patch/demo. Have fun. ;) 15 is an obvious choice for the league to bring in new people tho.

    Shut up you wiener!

On topic: I had a lot of fun playing 15 yesterday. I don't know if it was because of small improvements, everyone having low cards, a lack of shit bounces, or all of them put together, but, "out of the box", it's a good game. That is the usual case every year though, then come the tuners, the attribute sliders, the legend cards, the exploits, and the lucky bounces, all culminating into a 12 player shit show.

In my opinion, it's a better game than 14, but it's not enough improvement to warrant the $60(or $70) price tag.
