I agree, Alexander is way too much a one dimensional fighter. He was exciting to watch in his first 2 UFC fights, but since....blah! Are you going to put up all the matches this week for our PPV LG picks guru title again? I wonder if anyone is going to pick Serra?..lol.
LOL --Im sure there will be a few. I can't see WINNING AGAIN ... But this is MMA and like the first time ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN .. :-?
I should have actually done the predictions for the Fight Night event. I will post something for sure for the UFC card with GSP.
Sounds like a very cool experience. I'd love to be able to chat with them. About your back of the head comments, I am fairly certain that any punches or strikes at the back of the head are not allowed. As soon as a strike is in that area the ref always says "watch the back of the head". I sort of feel they almost give too many warnings sometimes and need to look to deduct a point. Florian didn't do this unpurpose though. I am certainly not against Florian. I admire him for quite a few things...1) His obsession with perfection, 2) His work ethic 3) His respect for the roots of the disciplines he studies and 4) His intensity. His trainer Mark Dellagrotte is an amazing trainer, they really have a good team. I like Lauzon too....anyone that trains with Penn is going to learn alot, he's the best lightweight on the planet if you ask me.
I am definitely up for making picks in the next event as well. Regarding the strikes to the back of the head I agree that the majority of the refs over-warn the fighter. Very few refs will let it go while others are extremely strict when it comes to this rule. I use to find Big John would be the best in this regard as he knew when to warn the fighters and when to just let them go. That one old bald dude (can't remember his name) is the absolute worst as he throws out warnings like he is trying to meet a quota.

*Rumours* Sounds like letting go Tim Sylvia from the UFC might have ben the best thing for both sides. It appears that Tim is close to inking a deal with HD Net Fights to meet Fedor Emelianenko in his next fight for a nice paycheck.

yah bro, sorry, i've been so focused on the playoffs that i ahve'nt even been in the COD thread to sign up lol.... yah, MMA is ok i guess lol, been fighting now for about 4 years so its kinda a little hobby of mine
Remember also there is a difference between a TKO stoppage and a KO. As always: 1 point for guessing winner 1 point for guessing round and 1 point for guessing method of stoppage GSP TKO's Serra Rd. 2 / GSP is going to elbow him to death with GNP Rich franklin KO 1 Travis Lutter / "No heart" Lutter will fold Starnes sub. Rd 2 Nate Quarry / Starnes will be relentless, will be a good fight! Michael Bisping TKO Rd. 1 Charles McCarty / Was never sold on Charles plus he is a TUF weirdo! Mac Danzig sub. Rd. 3 Mark Bocek / Will be a good fight! Jason McDonald sub. Rd 1 Joe Doerksen Rich Clementi sub. Rd. 2 Sam stout / I really like both fighters but Clementi BJJ is too solid! Damian Maia sub. Rd 2 Ed Herman / Maia is a sub specialist and Herman is just ok.... Alan Belcher TKO Rd. 2 Jason Day / Belcher impressed the hell out of me by beating Starnes in his last fight, should be another great one. Kuniyoshi Hironaka decisions Jonathan Goulet / Goulet lacks talent Brad Morris sub. Rd 2 Cain Velasquez / a total guess, I know nothing of these two
Not too bad of pics ya made there...only one 10/1 aint gana happen pick i think is Mac over Mark Bocek. Bocek's is one of the best BJJ guys in MMA today. Other than that solid pics...and Cain is a absolute stud wrestler, so look for the GnP real quick.
He's a decient wrestler, but he's a 3 time ADCC vet and has won way to many NAGA's and Grappler's Quest tourneys than i can even count.
